Oscar season is almost upon us. It’s the time of the year for the Hollywood elite and hopefuls to vie for one of the greatest awards in all of entertainment. While it’s extremely difficult to win an Oscar, it’s even rarer to win multiple Oscars at the Academy Awards. Here’s a list of the prestigious few who won on more than one occasion.
Walt Disney – The King – 26
Walt Disney is the undisputed King of the Oscars. He won 26 Oscars. That’s right, 26. Mickey Mouse’s dad unsurprisingly racks up a ton of awards for animated shorts. He also won a handful for documentary shorts and features. In addition to his 22 competitive awards, the Academy also presented Disney with four honorary awards. In case you were wondering, he also has the record for nominations at 59.
It’s a Disney World out there, and we’re all just living in it.
Daniel Day-Lewis – Actor – 3
Daniel Day-Lewis (1957- ) is another masterful actor who doesn’t play the Hollywood game. This English actor picks his parts carefully, and always turns in an incredible performance. He has been nominated for five Oscars and won three of them for My Left Foot: The Story of Christy Brown (1990), There Will Be Blood (2008), and Lincoln (2012).
